HOW IT HAPPENED
- Canton didn't take long to get the scoring started just 64 seconds in off a failed defensive zone clearance by the Mustangs. Niko Schoner picked up the puck and the puck deflected to Sasenbury in front of the crease. His initial shot was saved by Chad Lowe put Schoner put the rebound home at the far post for the early lead.
- Other than that play was mostly even in the first period with the Mustangs holding a slim 9-8 shots advantage but the hosts took a 1-0 lead to first intermission.
- The Roos extended their lead to 3-0 with back-to-back goals 3:33 apart in the latter part of the middle period. Evan Pringle started the breakout and Sasenbury and Samuel Moshurchak executed a 2-on-1 as Sasenbury beat Lowe glove side.
- Canton's third goal was credited to Fryfogle as the puck deflected in from a sharp angle off the Morrisville defense. The Roos outshot Morrisville 10-8 in the second period leading 3-0 after 40 minutes.
- With Morrisville still on the power play at the start of the third Canton lit the lamp shorthanded. Sasenbury and Fryfogle skated 2-on-1 into the zone as Sasenbury dropped a pass for Fryfogle to his right as he buried his second of the game.
- Less than a minute later Canton scored off a Morrisville defensive miscue when Colton Alexander found Logan Kelly who lifted a shot past Lowe.
- The Mustangs got on the board at 7:24 of the third when Zach Nicholls found Mason Losel for the score.
- Fryfogle completed the hat trick at 12:48 of the period when he caught a clearance attempt, set the puck down and fired it towards net. The puck redirected off a Morrisville stick out in front for his third goal of the game.
