Canton, NY – The SUNY Canton men's soccer team is set to open their 2025 season on Friday, August 29 when they host Bard College at 4 p.m.
After 10 non-conference games throughout August and early September, the Roos will begin SUNYAC play with a matchup against Fredonia State on September 27. To view the full schedule release, click

The Roos roster is composed of 29 players with 15 returners and 14 newcomers under 13th year Head Coach
Tim Penrod in the team's second season in the SUNYAC.
"Our group has really bought into the changes we started implementing last spring," said Penrod. "The work rate has been incredibly high; they have allowed themselves to improve and have bought into the concept that they need to buy into each other. We are very excited about kickoff on Friday."
The team returns their top goal scorer from last season,
Markel Mosley, as well as two-goal scorer
Chris Escobar. Other key returners include seniors
Hayden Brimelow,
Owen Lebron, and
Nathan Springer, each of which tallied one goal in the 2024 campaign. Sophomore
Christopher Guallpa also logged one goal last season. Captains for the Roos are LeBron as well as senior midfielder
Mason Holmes.
Nolan Sullivan and
Jason Vela return as goalkeepers for the Roos with Sullivan starting 12 games last season and Vela starting six in net. SUNY Canton also welcomes two transfer goalies for the 2025 season.
The Roos new faces total 14 players with six freshmen and eight transfers.
