Canton, NY – The SUNY Canton men's soccer program and Head Coach
Tim Penrod have announced their upcoming schedule for the 2025 season, the Roos second season in the SUNYAC.
The Roos will compete in 19 matches with 10 home games and nine matches coming vs. SUNYAC institutions. After a pair of scrimmages at home against Clinton Community College (8/19) and at Delhi (8/23), SUNY Canton opens the regular season with three straight home games against Bard (8/29), Mount St. Mary (8/30) and SUNY Poly (9/3).
The team hits the road for its next three matches squaring off at Mount Aloysius (9/6), Juniata (9/7) and Clarkson (9/10). Canton wraps up its non-conference slate with two more home matches against St. Lawrence (9/13) and Norwich (9/16) before traveling to VTSU Castleton (9/21) and Keuka (9/24).
The Roos open their second season in the SUNYAC against Fredonia on September 27th as the team is slated to celebrate its seniors. Other league home games include hosting Oswego (10/1), Potsdam (10/8), Oneonta (10/18) and Cortland (10/22).
The team is scheduled for SUNYAC road games at Buffalo State (10/4), Plattsburgh (10/11), Morrisville (10/15) and New Paltz (10/25).
The Roos will look to qualify for their first SUNYAC Tournament, with the top six teams in the league qualifying for the tournament. The first round takes place on November 1st with the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds hosting. The top two seeds earn byes to host the semifinals which take place on November 5th. The winners of each semifinal will meet for the SUNYAC Championship on November 8th at the highest remaining seed.
