HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bears had a great chance less than 90 seconds in when Wyatt Mokey found Jayson Viola as his shot went just wide of the right post.
- The Roos responded with a number of quality chances in less than a minute span. Andrew Rine nearly scored but Potsdam keeper James Kelm dove back towards the center of goal as he saved Rine's shot with his foot. Moments later off a corner kick Jonny LaFontaine put a header on goal that was turned aside by Kelm. All in the same sequence Gavin Barth's shot from distance was also saved.
- Three minutes later the Bears got on the board off a loose ball in the box as Wiley Dawson-Beilby finished a shot high into the center of goal for the 1-0 lead.
- Neither team found the back of the net the remainder of the first half as Canton held a 5-2 shots on goal advantage in the opening half but Potsdam took a 1-0 lead to intermission.
- The Bears doubled their lead in the 55th minute off a set piece from a corner kick from the right side. Josue Escobar found Thomas Wendel at the right post as he headed home the goal into the lower right corner.
- Canton was whistled for a foul in their defensive box in the 74th minute as Wendel placed the ensuing penalty kick into the lower right corner for the 3-0 lead.
