Oswego, NY – Anthony Marion led the Roos carding a round of 12-over par 83 in rainy conditions at the first round of the two-day, 36-hole Oswego State Spring Invitational at Oswego Country Club on Saturday. The Roos sit in sixth place as a team after 18 holes.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Marion went out in 40 before coming home in 43 as he sits in a tie for 12th place out of 42 golfers. The junior recorded six pars and a birdie on his round.
- John McCall is in a three-way tie for 26th after registering an 87 (43-44). He posted three pars on the front nine and two on the back.
- Kahontiio Lazore (50-39) and Brody Fuhrey (40-49) are tied for 32nd with 89's. Lazore improved by 11 strokes on the back nine shooting 3-over 39 over his final nine holes on Saturday. He recorded seven pars and a birdie on his round. Fuhrey shot nine strokes better on the front nine. He tripled bogeyed his first hole but after that shot just two-over on his next eight holes.
- Kyle Murphy rounded out the Roo golfers with a 94 (51-43) as he improved by eight strokes on the back nine and finished his day with five pars.
- The Roos are tied for sixth place with Russell Sage with a team score of 348. Nazareth leads the team event with a 327 ahead of SUNY Delhi B (329) and SUNY Delhi A (331). Oswego A is fourth (333) and Utica is fifth (335).

The Roos conclude their spring season on Sunday when they tee it up for the final round of the Oswego State Spring Invitational at Oswego Country Club. Tee times are set for 10:30 a.m.
