Canton, NY – Sophomore Raine Rumble fired a round of 76 and junior Kahontiio Lazore carded a 79 as the SUNY Canton men's golf team opened its 2026 season at Day 1 of the St. Lawrence Invitational at Oliver D. Appleton Golf Course on Saturday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Rumble went out in 37 before coming home in 39 as he carded three birdies, 10 pars, three bogeys and two doubles.
• Lazore recorded a round of 79 (+7) going out in 39 before coming home in 40. He tallied four birdies, seven pars, four bogeys two doubles and a triple.
• Mason Dumas competed as an individual posting an 81 (+9) with a birdie on his final hole to go with eight pars, eight bogeys and a double. Carter Johnson shot an 85 in his collegiate debut struggling with a 47 on the front but bouncing back with a 38 on the back nine.
• Brody Fuhrey registered an 86 (44-42) with a birdie and nine pars on his round.
• The Roos sit in 13th place out of the 13 team field after the opening round with 326 strokes.
• Host St. Lawrence leads the team event with 283 strokes ahead of Nazareth and Clarkson who are tied for second with 290 strokes. St. Lawrence's Charlie Novak leads the field with a round of 67 (-5) just ahead of Nazareth's Jason Clifton who had a 68 (-4).
