Maddy Caron eclipsed the 200 career goal milestone scoring four times and adding three assists but a strong third quarter lifted host Lycoming past the SUNY Canton women's lacrosse team in a non-league game on Thursday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Roos roared out to a 4-0 lead just over two minutes in with a pair of goals from Caron and one each from Sienna Hillicke and Olivia McCormick.
- The Warriors responded with five consecutive scores, three from Katie Maguire and the other two from Alexa Baldwin to lead 5-4.
- Canton got one back on Ava Dupee's first career goal to make it 5-5 before two more Lycoming scores gave the hosts a 7-5 lead after a high scoring opening 15 minutes.
- The teams exchanged a pair of goals to start the second stanza with Caroline Nappi and Dupee scoring for Canton.
- After Maguire's fifth tally of the game Canton rattled off three straight goals from Caron, McCormick and Lindsey Wunder to tie things up at 10 apiece.
- The Warriors scored the final two goals of the first half to take a 12-10 lead into intermission. The hosts continued their strong finish of the first half outscoring the Roos 6-0 in a decisive third quarter to take a commanding 18-10 lead to the fourth quarter as they would earn the 20-13 win. Â

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Caron led the Roos with seven points on four goals and three assists to go with 11 draw controls. Her four goals helped her eclipse the 200 career milestone as she is just the second player in program history to accomplish the feat. With 203 career goals she is just 19 away from breaking the program record of 221 owned by Samantha Dayter.
- Wunder dished out a team-best four assists and scored once, while Dupee and McCormick both tallied two goals and one assist each. Nappi scored twice and Hillicke and Morgan Montgomery found the back of the net once each.
- Maguire paced Lycoming with nine goals and she also eclipsed the 200 career goal milestone in the game and also has 203 career goals. Riley Block posted eight points on seven goals and one assist with a game-high 12 draws, while Baldwin scored twice and dished out five assists. Â
- Emma Yanders made 12 saves in the win for the Warriors. Laura Falandys got the start making six saves surrendering 12 goals in the first half in the loss. Olivia Scott turned aside eight shots allowing eight goals in the second half in relief.
- Lycoming held advantages in shots on goal (34-25), draw controls (22-14) and ground balls (24-20). The Warriors went 5-for-9 on free-position shots, while Canton was 0-for-1. Â

WHAT'S NEXT?
The Roos head south and return to action on Monday when they square off with Fitchburg State in sunny Florida in the Spring Fling Tournament. The teams will play at Publix Sports Park in Panama City Beach, Florida with opening draw set for 11 a.m. eastern and 10 a.m. local time.
