Natalie Bartle scored 19 points, secured 14 rebounds and added six steals to lead the SUNY Canton women's basketball team over the SUNY Poly Wildcats 70-40 on Wednesday evening in a non-conference contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Roos jumped out to a 7-2 lead early in the first quarter capped by a three pointer by junior Hope Aniceto. The Roos continued to push their lead with another trey by Aniceto and a layup by Bartle to open a 12-2 advantage. The two teams traded points down the final minutes of the opening quarter with the Roos holding a 24-13 edge after one quarter.
- An Emma Perez jumper got the Roos on the board early in the second and Aniceto hit three straight free throws after being fouled on a three-point attempt to increase the Roos lead to 29-13. Canton scored 11 of final 16 points of the half to lead 40-18.
- The Wildcats scored seven the first nine points of the third quarter to cut the lead to 17 points. The Roos rattled of seven of the next nine with a Bartle jumper putting Canton up 49-27. Consecutive three pointers by Poly cut the lead to 14 but the Roos responded again to lead 54-37 after three.
- Canton used a balanced attack to dominate the fourth quarter and would close out the game for a 70-40 victory.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Bartle led all scorers with 19 points, Aniceto had 12 and Kat McRobbie-Taru finished with 10.
- Bartle also led the team with a game-high 14 rebounds, six steals and five assists.
- Alivia Turk led the Wildcats with nine points. Sanna Lee's 10 rebounds led Poly.
- The Roos had an edge in points off turnovers (23-6), fast break points (15-0) and points in the paint (28-16).
- SUNY Poly led in second-chance points (12-10) and bench points (22-20).
