Alyssa Townsley have swept the SUNYAC Women's Hockey weekly awards, as announced by the league office on Tuesday. Paswaters was named the SUNYAC Athlete of the Week, while Townsley was named both the SUNYAC Goaltender and Rookie of the Week.
Paswaters had a monster weekend coming up clutch with two goals and an assist to lead the Roos to a pair of wins at Morrisville to clinch a playoff berth. On Friday she assisted the Roos first goal in an eventual 3-1 win. On Saturday with Canton needing a tie or win to clinch a playoff berth and trailing by one in the third period Paswaters scored back-to-back goals to lift the team to the win. She tied the game at 2-2 at 7:34 of the third period and scored the power play game-winner 1 minute, 54 seconds into OT blasting a shot top shelf for the 3-2 win.
Townsley combined to stop 52 of the 55 shots she faced (.945 save %) in a 2-0 weekend to lead the Roos to a pair of wins at Morrisville to clinch a playoff berth. She had an impressive outing on Friday stopping 34 of the 35 shots she faced including 13 each in the first and third periods to help Canton earn a 3-1 win. On Saturday she stopped 18 shots as Canton earned a 3-2 OT win.
