Canton, NY – The SUNY Canton women's hockey team and Head Coach
Kalie Hart have announced the program's 2025-26 schedule. The Roos will play a 25 game regular season schedule that features 10 home games and a pair of games at the historic Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid in their third season in the SUNYAC.
Following a pair of exhibitions, the Roos open the regular season on the road at Stevenson on October 31st and November 1st. The team hosts MCLA for their home-opening weekend in the Roos House (11/7-8). SUNY Canton opens SUNYAC play when they host Morrisville (11/14) and Cortland (11/15).
The Roos hit the road the following weekend as they continue conference play at Buffalo State (11/21) and SUNYAC newcomer William Smith (11/22). Canton rounds out the 2025 portion of its schedule with a non-league road series at Chatham (12/5-6).
The team kicks off the 2026 calendar with five more non-conference games, four of which are neutral site contests or on the road. The Roos visit Hamilton on January 3rd and play a weekend neutral site series at the historic Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid against Utica (1/10-11). The break from SUNYAC play wraps up with a home-and-home series against St. John Fisher. The Roos host the Cardinals on January 15th before traveling to Rochester two days later.
The team's final 10 games come within league play as Canton hosts second semester SUNYAC games against Oswego (1/31), Potsdam (2/13), Plattsburgh (2/14), William Smith (2/20) and Buffalo State (2/21).
Second semester league road games include trips to Plattsburgh (1/23), Potsdam (1/24), Oswego (1/30), Cortland (2/6) and Morrisville (2/7).
The Roos will look to qualify for their second straight SUNYAC Tournament with the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds hosting semifinal contests on February 28th. The highest remaining seed will host the SUNYAC Championship on March 7th. The winner of the SUNYAC Tournament earns the conference's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
