Maddy Caron combined for 14 goals as the SUNY Canton women's lacrosse team picked up a key 22-12 NAC road win at SUNY Morrisville on Wednesday. With the win the Roos locked up the No. 1 seed and hosting rights in the upcoming NAC Tournament.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Play was fairly even through the first quarter as Morrisville scored two early goals, but Canton responded with four straight scores in just over a two minute span. The Mustangs netted three straight as the teams were knotted at five apiece after 15 minutes.
- Canton started to separate in the second quarter as they outscored the hosts 5-2 to take a 10-7 lead into intermission.
- Both teams found the back of the net three times each in the third quarter as the Roos took a 13-10 lead to the fourth.
- The Roos dominated in the fourth quarter outscoring Morrisville 9-2 in the final stanza to earn the convincing 10 goal win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Dayter led all players with 12 points, seven goals and five assists to go with 10 draw controls. Caron tallied seven goals, one assist and six draw controls, while Lindsey Wunder added two goals and one assist. Ava Reynolds and Caroline Nappi supplied two goals each, while Sydney Dunn and Morgan Montgomery scored once each.
- Alana McDonald led the Mustangs with five goals, while Maddie Baum scored three.
- Olivia Scott made 10 saves in her ninth win of the season, while Rebecca Thomas stopped 12 shots in the loss for Morrisville.
- The Roos controlled shots on goal (34-22) and draw controls (20-17). Canton went 6-for-11 on free-position shots, while Morrisville was 3-for-6.

WHAT'S NEXT?
The Roos conclude their regular season on Saturday when they host SUNY Poly at 3 p.m. The team will celebrate Senior Day. With the win tonight, the Roos have locked up the No. 1 seed and hosting rights in the upcoming NAC Tournament on May 4th and 5th.
