Caron Scores Six, Nappi Nets Four in Win at Farmington

Farmington, ME – Maddy Caron scored six goals and Caroline Nappi netted four as the SUNY Canton women's lacrosse team cruised to a 17-3 NAC road win at Maine Farmington on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Roos controlled things throughout jumping out to a 7-0 lead after the opening quarter as six different players scored in the quarter.
  • Canton dominated play once again in the second quarter outscoring the Beavers 4-0 to take an 11-0 lead into intermission.
  • The Roos extended their lead to 14-0 after the third quarter and caged the first three goals of the fourth quarter to open a 17-0 advantage.
  • Maine Farmington scored three late goals including two in the final 18 seconds for the 17-3 final.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Caron led all players with six goals and eight points adding six draw controls, while Nappi netted four goals. Samantha Dayter posted two goals, two assists and nine draw controls, while Lindsey Wunder posted a goal and three assists. Morgan Montgomery supplied a goal and assist and Abbey Albro, Jaedyn Awan and Aayliah White finished with a goal each.
  • Erin Anderson made four saves in her first win of the season. Kate Nowell stopped 12 shots in the loss for the Beavers.
  • Canton controlled shots (43-7), shots on goal (30-7) and draw controls (21-2).

The Roos are back in action on Sunday when they visit Thomas at 1 p.m.
