Canton, NY – Josh Marshall fired a round of 3-over par, 75, on Saturday as he sits in seventh place out of the 36-golfer field after the opening round of the St. Lawrence Invitational at Oliver D. Appleton Golf Course.
Marshall sits just seven strokes off the lead as New York University's Jorge Montero shot a 4-under par, 68. The senior captain is just three strokes back of the rest of the field.
Jake Hess recorded a round of 6-over par, 78, and is tied for 14th place after 18 holes.
Gavin Neuland finished with a round of 82 (T-25th),
Brendan Kanoza shot an 85 (T-29th) and
Sam Martin tallied an 86 (T-32nd).
SUNY Canton sits in sixth place after the opening round with a team total of 320 strokes. They are just behind Clarkson (312) and St. Lawrence's 'B' and 'C' teams. NYU leads the field with a 292, while St. Lawrence's 'A' team is in second at 307.
