Canton, NY – Senior
Josh Marshall carded a round of 2-under par, 70, on Tuesday as he and the Roos won the SUNY Canton Invitational at Partridge Run Golf & Country Club.
Marshall's previous low in a competitive round was a 74, which he shot on three occasions during the fall 2019 season at St. Lawrence, Utica and Paul Smith's.
Marshall's round on Tuesday, which was six strokes clear of the rest of the field, ties the lowest round of any SUNY Canton golfer in at least the last 11 years. Zach Meade also recorded a round of 2-under, 70, at the second round of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association Championships on October 14, 2014 at the Penn State Blue Course. The 70 led Meade to earn
medalist honors and the USCAA national championship out of the 130-golfer field.
SUNY Canton 'A' won the team title with 300 strokes on Tuesday. Clarkson's 'A' team finished second with 322 strokes followed by SUNY Canton 'B' with 333.Â
