Hess & Szlamcynski in Top 10 After Opening Round of NAC Championship

Delhi, NY – Senior Jake Hess and sophomore Adam Szlamcynski are both in the top 10 individually after the opening round of the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) championship on Saturday at The College Golf Course at SUNY Delhi.

The Roos sit in third place out of the nine-team field with 18 holes left to play on Sunday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Hess sits in a tie for eighth place individually after carding an opening round of 5-over par, 76. He sits just four strokes off the lead held by SUNY Delhi's Thomas Christoffersen and Husson's Will Kavanaugh.
  • Star Lake native Szlamcynski is also in the top 10 sitting alone in 10th place with a 77. Josh Marshall and Brendan Kanoza are tied for 21st with 86's, while Gavin Neuland sits in a tie for 23rd with an 87.
  • The Roos posted a team score of 325 to sit in third place out of nine teams after 18 holes of play. Husson is in first place with a 295, followed by second place and tournament host SUNY Delhi (309). Thomas College (333) and Maine Farmington (337) round out the top five.
 

WHAT'S NEXT
The Roos and the rest of the NAC schools tee off for the final round of the NAC Championship at the College Golf Course at SUNY Delhi beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday.
