HOW IT HAPPENED
- Farabee opened the scoring at 11:43 of the first period just 25 seconds into the Roos first power play opportunity of the contest. Kyler Matthews fed a cross ice pass from the right faceoff circle to Sean David at the left point. He hit Farabee at the point who put a wrist shot past the glove side of Julius Huset.
- The score was the 13th of the season for Farabee and his ninth power play tally of the year. He came into the weekend tied for second in NCAA D-III with eight power play goals.
- Neither team found the back of the net in the second period despite the Roos dominating shots, 15-8, in the period. The game was extremely entertaining with hard hitting action by both sides and strong goaltending.
- The Roos broke through with 2:35 remaining in the game when Adam Petric won a defensive zone faceoff at the left circle back to Connor Tuttle. Tuttle played the puck high off the boards as Bannister skated into the offensive zone. Bannister hustled for the puck as he found himself open below the left circle and put a shot low through the five-hole of Huset for the crucial insurance goal.
- The AMCATS pulled the goalie for the extra attacker with 2:06 remaining and 22 seconds later the Roos were whistled for a pair of minors, while Anna Maria only drew one as the visitors had two extra skaters.
- With 57 seconds left Canton was whistled for another penalty but Cerasuolo made three saves in the final minutes to preserve the win and shutout.
- Cerasuolo stopped all 21 shots he faced in the win, while Huset made 27 stops in the loss.
- Canton went 1-for-4 on the power play while killing off all five of their penalties.
