Canton, NY – Jake Mayette scored his third goal of the season to tie the game in the third period as the SUNY Canton men's hockey team earned a 1-1 overtime tie v. Anna Maria College on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The visitors got on the board first at 5:08 of the opening period off an offensive zone faceoff win. Patrik Peltola won the draw at the left dot back to Patrick Manning who buried his fifth goal of the season.
- SUNY Canton held a slim 10-9 shots advantage in the opening period and controlled faceoffs, 16-7.
- Neither team found the back of the net in the second period as the Roos outshot the AMCATS, 15-10 and faceoffs were dead even at 10 apiece.
- The Roos evened the game at one apiece at 13:24 of the third period when Jake Mayette took a wrist shot from the point that made its way through traffic with Jesse Farabee screening out in front. Connor Tuttle and Matthew Headland earned helpers on the play.
- Canton outshot Anna Maria 16-7 in the final period as the teams skated to overtime.
- Austin Washkurak came up huge with 40 seconds left in the extra session making a save when Jack Sitzman skated in alone on the breakaway.
- Washkurak finished with 28 saves on 29 shots for the Roos, while Julius Huset had a monster game turning aside 43 of the 44 shots he faced.

These two teams will have a rematch on Saturday at 4 p.m. in the Roos House.
