Cornish had an impressive week leading the SUNY Canton women’s volleyball team to a 3-1 week against four quality opponents (3 Division III, 1 Division II) at the Victory Promotions Invitational. The freshman outside hitter averaged 3.23 kills and 2.15 digs per set over 13 frames on the week all while hitting an accurate .346. On the week she amassed 42 kills, 28 digs and was responsible for a team best 46.5 points.

Cornish leads the team with 68 kills (2.83/set) on the season and is second with 62 digs (2.58/set). The Honeoye, NY native finished with a career-high 16 kills, just one error and added seven digs in a critical four-set win over Division II St. Michael’s College. The win Friday night helped the Kangaroos carry great momentum into Saturday’s matches which resulted in two sweeps.  

The women’s volleyball team will hit the road Tuesday evening as they travel to take on Plattsburgh State beginning at 7:00 p.m.
