Canton, NY – The SUNY Canton men's basketball team and Head Coach Dylan Seikel have released the team's 2026-27 schedule. The Roos have a 25 game regular season schedule that includes 11 home games and a pair of first semester tournaments in their third season in the SUNYAC.
 
The team's slate includes 16 SUNYAC contests. With Alfred State. Cobleskill and Delhi joining the conference this year, the league now consists of 12 schools and is split into the East Division (Canton, Cobleskill, Delhi, Oneonta, Plattsburgh, Potsdam) and the West Division (Alfred State, Buffalo State, Cortland, Fredonia, Morrisville, Oswego).
 
The league slate includes a home and away contest against each of the other five teams in your division along with one game each (three home, three away) against the other six teams in the other division.
 
After a scrimmage in late October, the Roos open the regular season at the Mike Daley Memorial Tournament hosted by Nazareth. The Roos open with Muhlenberg on November 6 before playing either Keystone or the host Golden Flyers the following day in the consolation or championship. The teams next two contests are nearby road games at Clarkson (11/10) and Poly (11/13) before hosting Brockport in their home opener on Stan Cohen Court on November 17.
 
The team wraps up November at the Williams Purple and Gold Tournament on November 21 and 22 as they open with Nichols and then play either Maine Farmington or the host Ephs in the consolation or championship the following day.
 
The Roos host St. John Fisher to kick off December (12/1) before opening league play at Plattsburgh (12/4) and Cobleskill (12/5). The team's final matchup of 2026 comes when they host Alfred State in their SUNYAC home opener on December 12.
 
   
The 2027 portion of the schedule kicks off with a non-conference home game against VTSU Castleton on January 3. The entire remainder of the slate will be within league play as the team plays 13 SUNYAC contests. The first three will come with home matchups against Oneonta (1/8), Delhi (1/9) and Potsdam (1/15). The team's next four tilts come on the road at Oswego (1/22), Morrisville (1/23), Delhi (1/29) and Oneonta (1/30).
 
The Roos will enjoy a nice four game homestand to kick off February hosting Buffalo State (2/5), Fredonia (2/6), Cobleskill (2/12) and Plattsburgh (2/13), before closing out the regular season at Potsdam (2/17) and at Cortland (2/20).
 
The Roos will look to qualify for their first SUNYAC Tournament. The top two seeds earn first round byes with the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds hosting first round games on February 23. The No. 1 overall seed hosts championship weekend with two semifinal games on February 26 and the championship game on February 27. The winner of the SUNYAC Tournament will earn the conference's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
