Diaz, Paone, Campi & McLean Earn SUNYAC All-Conference Honors

Syracuse, NY – Sal Diaz, Jared Paone, AJ Campi and Chris McLean all earned SUNYAC Baseball All-Conference accolades, as announced by the league office on Wednesday. Diaz and Paone were named First Team All-Conference, while Campi and McLean earned Second Team honors.   

Diaz, a First Team selection at catcher, led the Roos with a .374 batting average, 37 hits, 11 doubles, seven homers, a .697 slugging percentage, 18 walks, 69 total bases and a .496 on-base percentage while ranking second with 23 RBI. Diaz ranked first in the SUNYAC at the end of the regular season in homers (7), slugging percentage (.697) and extra-base hits (18). He was also in the top five in doubles (11 – T-2nd) and on-base % (.496 – 5th). Diaz finished the season with eight multi-hit games including a 4-for-5 performance with a homer, double, four runs and three RBI in the season finale win against Plattsburgh (4/27). Defensively he finished the season with 134 putouts and 20 assists in 159 chances for a .969 fielding percentage. Diaz was named to the D3baseball.com National Team of the Week (3/25/26) and SUNYAC Athlete of the Week (3/23/26).

Paone, a First Team honoree at utility, ranked second on the team with a .346 batting average, .485 on-base percentage and 15 walks. He also ranked in the top five on the team in hits (28), runs (14), doubles (4) home runs (2) and RBI (13). Paone finished with seven multi-hit games including three performances with three hits each.

Campi, a Second Team selection at second base, hit .270 ranking third on the team with 34 hits, seven doubles and 18 RBI. He also drew 10 walks and was hit three times posting a .333 on-base percentage. The junior was third on the team with 18 runs and fourth with 41 total bases. He was strong defensively with 67 assists and 56 putouts in 126 chances good for a .976 fielding percentage.
 
Campi Second Team


McLean, a Second Team honoree at outfield, hit .308 leading the team with 31 runs and 25 RBI while ranking second with 36 hits. He also drew nine walks and got hit a team-best 14 times as he sported a .407 on-base %. McLean was also a nuisance to opposing pitchers on the basepaths going 19-for-22 on stolen base attempts. Defensively he had 118 putouts and four assists in 125 chances for a .976 fielding percentage. McLean ranked tied for second in the conference with five sacrifice flies, while he ranked third in the league with 19 stolen bases and 14 hit by pitches. His 25 RBI were tied for 10th in the SUNYAC during the regular season.
