Canton, NY – Raine Rumble, a freshman on the men's golf team, and Ava Bodnar, a freshman on the women's lacrosse team, have been named this week's Roos of the Week.

Rumble shot the lowest score at the spring portion of the 2025-26 Empire 8 Championship with a two-round total of 157 (+13). After sitting tied for seventh following the fall portion of the tournament he climbed his way to solo third with rounds of 80 and 77. In Sunday's (4/19) third round he went out in 39 and came home in 41 recording a birdie and 10 pars as part of his round. He concluded the tournament with a 77 (38-39) on Monday (4/20) including registering three birdies on his back nine. Following his performance at the tournament he was named Empire 8 First Team All-Conference and the Empire 8 Rookie of the Year as he produced the lowest four-round score of any rookie in the field.

Rumble followed that up finishing tied for sixth place out of 47 golfers at the two day, 36-hole Oswego Spring Invitational on Saturday (4/25) and Sunday (4/26). He shot a 76 (36-40) on Saturday with two birdies, nine pars and seven bogeys. Rumble followed that up with a 75 (37-38) on Sunday with three birdies, eight pars and seven bogeys to improve from tied for eighth after the opening round to a tie for sixth at the conclusion of the tournament.

Bodnar had a hand in nearly half of the Roos goals recording a game-high five goals and an assist as Canton doubled up Potsdam 14-7 in their lone game of the week on Wednesday. She scored the team's first goal and later gave the team an 8-5 lead with a goal and assist on back-to-back scoring plays. With the Roos up 9-6 heading to the fourth quarter the rookie took over scoring three fourth quarter goals to put away the Bears. Bodnar finishes her rookie season leading the Roos in both goals (27) and points (42).
