Canton, NY – Lance Phillips Jr., a senior on the baseball team, and
Sydney Tanner, a junior on the softball team, have been named this week's Roos of the Week.
Phillips Jr. combined to hit .833 (5-for-6) and was hit by a pair of pitches as he posted an .875 on-base percentage in a pair of games last week for the Roos. He opened the weekend going a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate reaching base in all four plate appearances while driving in a run in a 9-3 loss to Oneonta on Saturday. Phillips Jr. followed that up with a 2-for-3 performance as he was hit by another pitch in a 9-3 loss to the Red Dragons on Sunday.
Tanner hit .429 (3-for-7) in four SUNYAC games last weekend while also earning a win on the mound in the Roos 6-4 win in Game 2 against Potsdam on Saturday. She threw a complete game with four strikeouts allowing three earned runs on 68 pitches.
