Canton, NY – After an impressive weekend leading the Roos to a 3-1 record, senior Sal Diaz is one of 17 players nationally across Division III to be named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week.

Diaz, the SUNYAC Athlete of the Week, had a monster week at the plate hitting .636 (7-for-11) with three homers, a double, seven RBI and 17 total bases leading the Roos to a 3-1 record in a pair of non-conference doubleheaders last weekend. He opened the week combining to go 3-for-6 with a double, a home run and three RBI as Canton split a doubleheader against Baruch on Friday with a 5-4 win and 7-6 loss. On Saturday the senior was dominant going 4-for-5 with two homers, two runs and four RBI in an 11-0 and 17-2 sweep of Lehman.  He also drew three walks on the week finishing with a .667 on-base % and a 1.545 slugging %. Diaz was also perfect in the field behind the dish in two games recording 15 put outs in 15 chances.
   
Diaz becomes the fifth SUNY Canton baseball player to be named to the D3baseball.com National Team of the Week. The Roos are back in action for a pair of seven-inning games on Wednesday at Utica beginning at 2 p.m.
