Canton, NY – The SUNY Canton men's hockey team will host an Alzheimer's Awareness game during their home game against Morrisville on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 4 p.m.
The day's events kick off with a caregiver presentation in the Roos House Mezzanine at 3 p.m. There will be tables with resources set up outside the entrance to the rink throughout the afternoon. The team is encouraging fans to wear purple to support Alzheimer's awareness.
There will be a puck drop ceremony just before the game with Assistant Athletic Trainer
Vanessa Cook and her family as her father suffers from Alzheimer's. Cook has helped spearhead this event as part of her Master's degree program.
Throughout the game SUNY Canton players will be wearing special Alzheimer's Awareness jerseys and those will be auctioned off. If you have questions regarding the jersey auction which will take place primarily on Saturday at the rink or to bid on a jersey please contact Head Men's Hockey Coach

At first intermission caregivers and their loved ones will gather at the concourse level above the stands at center ice for a photo. There will also be raffle baskets for caregivers and a 50/50 raffle.
Additionally, there is a separate event on campus on Friday (2/6) from 12 to 1 p.m. in Miller Campus Center 212-214 called "Understanding Alzheimer's and Dementia" put on by the SUNY Canton Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and Alzheimer's Association of Central New York.
