HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Roos opened the scoring at 4:45 of the first period when Hodge dislodged the puck behind the net and fed junior Adrian Franco for a shot in tight that was saved by goaltender Charles-Anthony Barbeau.  Hodge gathered the rebound and buried his first career goal with the Roos.
  • Schoner put Canton up 2-0 at the 9:58 mark of the first, skating from his own defensive end through four Blue Devil defenders before depositing the puck over Barbeau's blocker.  The goal was scored on the power play and was assisted by senior Scott Cremen.
  • Antione St. Onge got Fredonia on the board at 14:28 of the first, burying a rebound past senior Kelson Hooper to make it 2-1.
  • Owen Cross evened the game at two early in the second when he picked up a rebound and scored off the crossbar at 5:19 of the period.
  • Fredonia scored a power play goal to take a 3-2 lead when St. Onge registered his second goal of the game.
  • Junior Jordan Prepszl knotted the game at three, wristing a low angle shot top corner. Prepszl's goal was at 13:44 of the second period and was assisted by sophomore Brayden Fryfogle and Schoner.
  • Two special teams goals – a short-handed tally by Keenan McNeill and a power play goal by Alexis Gonzalez-Lambert – put Fredonia up 5-3 early in the third.
  • Spencer Sasenbury got Canton to within 5-4 at the 15:01 mark but an empty net goal by Luke Morris last in the period gave the Blue Devils the insurance marker they needed and his team the 6-4 victory.
