Chamonix Jackson scored her sixth goal of the season, but despite a dominant third period performance by her team, the SUNY Canton women's hockey team dropped a 2-1 decision to SUNY Potsdam on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Coralie Paradis opened the scoring for the Bears at 5:30 of the first period, battling for the puck and sneaking a shot from a tight angle past junior goaltender Molly Lenihan.
- Potsdam grabbed a 2-0 lead at 2:02 of the second as Isabel Boyd picked up a rebound at the side of the net and tucked it home.
- Canton dominated the third stanza and finally hit pay dirt as Jackson outsprinted a Bear defender to a loose puck, skated in alone on goaltender Magalie Parent and beat her with a backhand shot. The goal was scored shorthanded with just 3:15 remaining in the period.
- The Roos pulled Lenihan for the extra attacker but could not score the equalizer, dropping the game 2-1.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Jackson's goal was her sixth of the season, good for second on the team.
- The Roos were 0/5 on the powerplay and a perfect 4/4 on the penalty kill.
- Potsdam held the edge at the faceoff dot 30-24. Junior Isabella Paswaters led the way for the Roos winning 10/14.
- Lenihan finished with 26 saves while her counterpart Parent made 36 stops.

The Roos head to Oswego to face the Lakers on Friday, January 30
