Mesler & Goodnough Lead Roos Against Plattsburgh

Plattsburgh, NY – Senior Austin Mesler led Canton on Wednesday night as the Roos fell to host Plattsburgh by a score of 19-6. Mesler scored two goals with one assist while Senior Caeden Goodnough chipped in with one goal and one assist.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Plattsburgh opened the game scoring seven goals in a row including four goals in the opening quarter of the contest
  • The Cardinals scored three more goals to start the second period before Senior Devin Guerriero scored on an assist from Mesler
  • The host Cardinals rattled off nine straight goals over the remainder of the second and third periods to make the score 17-1 headed into the fourth quarter
  • The Roos would go on to outscore the Cardinals 5-2 in the fourth as Mesler opened the scoring in the fourth quarter
  • Junior Michael Newcomb joined the scoring early in the fourth as he scored with 7:07 left in the contest
  • Goodnough also scored for the unassisted midway into the fourth period
  • Jonney Mclear scored with 4:45 left in the contest and the Roos were rounded out with a goal from Mesler with nearly 2 minutes left in the contest
