Olivia McCormick all had three or more points but the Roos were unable to overcome an eight-goal halftime deficit in a 16-13 road loss at Fredonia State on Saturday. The Roos outscored the Blue Devils 11-6 in the second half.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Fredonia got off to a quick start scoring the first seven goals of the game and led 6-0 after the first quarter.
- Molly Sweeney got Canton on the board 2:45 into the second quarter and McCormick made it two in a row just over three minutes later. The Blue Devils scored the final three goals of the half to take a 10-2 lead into intermission.
- SUNY Canton outscored the hosts 4-2 in the third quarter with a goal and assist from Caroline Nappi and goals from Dupee, Wunder and Caron to get within 12-6 after three.
- Fredonia netted the first three goals of the third quarter, including two of them with a player advantage to open up a 15-6 lead.
- Canton scored seven of the final eight goals of the game for the 16-13 final.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Dupee led the Roos with three goals and one assist, while Caron and Wunder scored three each with Caron picking up five draw controls. Olivia McCormick finished with two goals and one assist while Nappi added a goal and assist. Ali Servati tied a game-high with three ground balls.
- Mieley Baran paced Fredonia with three goals and two assists, Emma Cockerel added three goals and one assist and Noelle Mendez also had a hat trick. Sydney Buchko picked up a game-high eight draws to go with a goal, three assists, three ground balls and three caused turnovers.
- Fredonia had a slim 22-21 edge in shots on goal and 19-14 advantage in draw controls. Ground balls were even at 17 apiece. The Blue Devils went 13-for-14 on clears, while Canton was 13-for-17.
- Ashleigh Manns made seven saves in the win for Fredonia. Olivia Scott stopped three shots in the first half in the loss, while Laura Falandys made three saves in the second half.
