Plattsburgh, NY – Four players reached base in the nightcap, but the SUNY Canton softball team faced some strong pitching from the host Cardinals as they dropped both ends of a SUNYAC doubleheader at Plattsburgh State on Friday.

GAME 1 – BOX SCORE
- Carly Gemmett tossed a perfect game for the Cardinals in the opener with 13 strikeouts on 15 batters faced to earn the shutout win.
- The Cardinal bats exploded for nine runs on five hits and an error in their first at-bats. Four of those runs came across unearned after an error with two outs.
- Plattsburgh tacked on four runs on four hits and an error in the third inning and added a run in the fourth en route to the 14-0 win in five innings.
- Megan Pillus led the Cardinals with two hits including a double and drove in three runs, while Gwen Noll recorded two hits and scored three runs.
- Gemmett earned the perfect game win on the mound with her 13 strikeouts and one flyout and groundout.
- Ace Rogers took the loss surrendering 10 earned runs with three strikeouts and four walks in four innings.

GAME 2 – BOX SCORE
- The nightcap was extremely close through four innings with the Cardinals leading just 1-0 headed to the fifth. The Cardinals scored one run on an RBI single in the second inning.
- The hosts used a big six run fifth inning on six hits and an error to open a 7-0 lead before adding another run in the sixth frame for the run-rule win.
- Pillus, Sara Isaacs, Bella Toleman, Michelle DeFina and Mikayla Pappas all recorded multi-hit games for the Cardinals.
- Bella Betancur, Emily Hobart and Hailey King all drew walks while Rylynn Martin-McIntyre was hit by a pitch to break up the perfect game.
- Morgan Ormerod threw a no-hitter for Plattsburgh with eight strikeouts, three walks and a hit batter in six innings.
- Rogers took the loss allowing seven earned runs with two walks in five innings.
