Rogers & Moore Record Hits in Softball Doubleheader on Tuesday in Myrtle Beach

Little River, SC – Ace Rogers and Torie Moore both recorded hits on the Roos second day of competition in Myrtle Beach, but the SUNY Canton softball team dropped a pair of games to Sweet Briar College and Lycoming College on Tuesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
 
GAME 1 – BOX SCORE
  • The Vixens jumped out to a 2-0 lead on a pair of RBI singles in the opening inning in Tuesday's first game.
  • Sweet Briar tacked on four more runs in the fourth spearheaded by a two RBI single from Victoria Tew.
  • The Vixens added three more runs in the fourth to win 9-0 in five innings.
  • Tew paced Sweet Briar with three hits and three RBI, while Jordan Martin and Kaylie Hudson recorded two hits each.
  • Ambyre Taylor threw a no-hitter with 14 strikeouts to earn the win.
  • Rogers took the loss allowing six earned runs.
 
GAME 2 – BOX SCORE
  • Lycoming scored two runs each in the first and third innings and ran across six more in the second to earn a 10-0 run-rule win in five innings in the nightcap.
  • Moore and Rogers registered hits for Canton.
  • Claire Alexander and Rachel Daub registered two hits apiece with Daub driving in four runs.
  • Serenity Snyder picked up the win tossing three innings of one hit ball in relief with five strikeouts.
  • Maggi Yandoh took the loss for Canton allowing six earned runs with three walks in one inning.

The Roos are back in action for their third day of competition in Myrtle Beach on Wednesday when they square off with Thiel and Penn State Du Bois at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., respectively.
