Pringle Cans Game Winner in OT at Fredonia

Fredonia, NY – Junior Evan Pringle helped cap a big weekend for the SUNY Canton men's hockey team, scoring the game-winner in overtime against Fredonia State to give the team their second SUNYAC victory in two nights.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After two periods without a goal, senior Colton Sipperley snapped a shot over the blocker of goaltender Charles-Anthony Barbeau to break the scoreless tie.  The goal was scored at 13:30 of the third with assists to freshman Nolan Zotter and sophomore Jordan Prepszl.
  • David Sudbrink evened the score at one, banging home a rebound at 15:38 of the third.
  • In overtime, Pringle gained the zone and wristed a shot blocker high past Barbeau to give the Roos the win, 2-1.  The goal was scored at and was assisted by Sipperley and junior Scott Cremen.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Bot teams directed 36 shots on net with Sipperley and senior Brendan Morrow notching five each.
  • Canton led at the faceoff dot (33-26) with Morrow winning 14 for the Roos.
  • The Roos were 0/1 on the power play while Fredonia was 0/2.
  • Junior Nate Hopkins was excellent, stopping 35 shots and backstopping the Roos to both victories over the weekend.  Barbeau made 34 saves for the Blue Devils.
