Cohen and Goode Jr. Net 20 Plus Points in Road Tilt vs. Blue Devils

Fredonia, NY – Nate Cohen and Kevin Goode Jr. both scored 20 plus points but a strong second half carried host Fredonia to an 82-73 SUNYAC win on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Roos jumped out to an early 17-11 lead midway through the first half following a Jevonte Williams three-pointer.
  • Canton took its largest lead of the half at 39-28 with 15 seconds remaining after a pair of Williams free throws. Fredonia scored a late bucket to get within 39-30 at intermission.
  • Cohen led all players with 11 points in the first half, while Goode Jr. had 10. Tyrese Fuller paced Fredonia with seven points.
  • Fredonia trimmed the deficit to five early in the second half. The Devils took their first lead of the second half at 59-58 after a Brandon Kulakowski layup with 9:11 to play. After the Roos had led 58-55 the hosts went on a 14-0 run to open an 11 point lead with 6:52 remaining.
  • The Roos responded with a 5-0 run to get within six but that is as close as they would get the rest of the way.  
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Cohen registered game-highs of 22 points, 11 rebounds and four steals shooting 7-for-13 from the field and added a pair of assists. Goode Jr. finished with 20 points and six rebounds shooting 12-for-16 from the line, while Malaki Smith added nine points off the bench. Bryon Streb chipped in eight points.
  • Kulakowski paced Fredonia with 18 points and eight rebounds, while Aiden Proudfoot (16), Keenan Roberts Jr. (13) and Amir Ross (12) all reached double figures.
  • Fredonia shot 47% from the field and 30% from three and 58% from the line, while Canton had marks of 33%, 36% and 77%, respectively.
  • The Devils dominated on the glass (47-27) as well as points in the paint (40-18).
