Canton, NY – Five Roos scored in double figures but visiting SUNY Potsdam earned a 91-77 SUNYAC win against the SUNY Canton men's basketball team on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Play was back-and-forth early on with the Roos holding a 14-11 lead just under seven minutes into the game. The teams were tied at 21 apiece with 6:36 left in the opening half.
- The Bears closed the half on a 23-11 run to take a 44-32 lead into intermission.
- Chris Nastasi and Malaki Smith led Canton with seven points each in the opening half. Mohammad Sylla led the Bears with 11 points, while Mike Hancock had nine.
- The Roos opened the second half on a 7-0 run to get within 44-39 just over two minutes in.
- The Bears responded going on a 33-13 run to take a commanding 77-52 lead with 9:14 left in the game. Â
- Canton cut the deficit to 13 (85-72) after a Bryon Streb layup with 4:28 remaining but that was as close as they would get until the final minute as Potsdam hung on for the 91-77 win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Nate Cohen led the Roos with 15 points on 7-for-10 shooting and added two assists, two steals and two blocks. Bryon Streb and Kevin Goode Jr. finished with 13 points each with Streb tying a team-high with seven rebounds and Goode Jr. dishing out a game-best six assists. Jevonte Williams (12) and Chris Nastasi (10) also scored in double figures.
- Sylla led all scorers with 25 points on 11-for-17 shooting for Potsdam, while Walter deFreitas (14), Nicholas Cortez (12), Parker Kelly (12) and Khalil Screen (11) all reached double figures.
- The Bears shot 57% from the field, 44% from three and 81% from the line while Canton posted marks of 48%, 33% and 69%, respectively.
