Canton, NY – Natalie Bartle tied a game-high with 26 points as the SUNY Canton women's basketball team earned a key 78-63 SUNYAC win against visiting SUNY Morrisville on Friday evening. With the win the Roos have secured hosting rights for a SUNYAC Tournament First Round playoff game on Tuesday, February 25th as they will host Plattsburgh at 7 p.m. in the Roos House. HOW IT HAPPENED
- Canton jumped out to an early 11-3 lead but an 8-0 run from the Mustangs tied things up at 11 apiece. Morrisville finished the final 6:52 of the quarter on a 15-4 run to take an 18-15 lead after the opening quarter.
- The Roos used an 8-0 run early in the second quarter with four points each from Bartle and Kat McRobbie-Taru to take a 25-20 lead. That run would extend to 15-2 as they opened a 30-22 lead after a Bartle jumper. Canton led by as many as 11 (37-26) after a Bartle three and took a 39-30 lead into intermission.
- Bartle led all players with 15 first-half points, while Anyssia Ingersoll paced Morrisville with 12 points hitting four threes. Â
- The Roos opened the second half on a 7-0 run to open a 46-30 lead. Canton outscored the Mustangs 27-16 in the third quarter to take a commanding 66-46 lead to the fourth quarter as they cruised to the victory.

- Bartle tied a game-high with 26 points and added seven rebounds and four steals. McRobbie-Taru chipped in 14 points on 6-for-8 shooting, while Hope Aniceto added 11 points hitting three of her eight threes. Sierra Pabo supplied eight points and six rebounds, while Emma Perez added six points and three boards.
- Kieonna Christmas paced Morrisville with 26 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocks, while Ingersoll added 14 points.
- The Roos shot 46% from the field and 31% from three, while holding Morrisville to 38% and 19%, respectively.
