Riley Andzel scored bookend goals in a three goal onslaught late in the first period to give the SUNY Canton women's hockey team a 3-1 win over host Chatham University on Friday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Andzel opened the scoring at 16:10 of the first period with assists going to seniors Asha Hanson and Danika Lalonde.
- Senior Ashten Morris gave the Roos a 2-0 lead at the 18:06 mark. Assisting on the goal were freshmen Izzy Bourgeault and Sophie Bywater.
- Andzel's second goal was scored with less than a minute remaining in the first period. Freshman Taylor Stoll earned the primary assist with Hanson picking up the secondary.
- Chelsea Clark finally broke through for the Cougars with less than six minutes remaining in the third period for her teams lone goal on the afternoon.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Andzel is now tied for second on the team with three goals on the season.
- Lalonde's assist gives her eight points on the season, good for second on the team.
- Junior Molly Lenihan finished the night with 27 saves for the Roos, surrendering just one goal.
- Morgan Miller stopped 42 shots for Chatham.
- Canton finished the night with a 32-27 edge at the faceoff dot. Stoll led the way for the Roos with 13 wins.
- Canton was 0/4 on the power play and a perfect 2/2 on the penalty kill.
- The weekend is a homecoming of sorts for Morris who played for the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite club program prior to joining the Roos.
