Canton, NY – The 2025-26 SUNY Canton men's basketball team features 18 student-athletes as the team opens the season on Friday when they visit Norwich University at 7 p.m. The Roos will play a 25 game schedule in their second season in the SUNYAC.
The team plays its second straight road game to start the season on Tuesday (11/11) at Clarkson. The Roos host SUNY Poly (11/14) and VTSU Lyndon (11/15) for their home-opening weekend. Canton kicks off December opening SUNYAC play at Morrisville (12/5) and Cortland (12/6). The team wraps up 2025 with a D-I exhibition at NJIT on December 29th. The Roos feature 18 players as fourth year Head Coach
Dylan Seikel will sport a well-balanced roster with nine returners coupled with nine newcomers.
Bryon Streb is the team's returning leading scorer after averaging 13.1 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game last season.
Malaki Smith (5.7 PPG),
Chris Nastasi (3.8 PPG),
Tanner Sullivan (2.8 PPG) and
Hansen Bagdonas (2.5 PPG) all saw nearly nine minutes or more per game last season.
Nastasi, Smith and Streb will serve as captains for the Roos this season.
Canton's nine newcomers include two junior college transfers, a sophomore elevated from the junior varsity program and seven freshmen. They include four forwards, four guards and a combo guard/forward and are listed below in numerical order.
