Buffalo, NY – The SUNYAC leader in points,

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Four minutes into the first period, the Bengals drew a penalty and took four shots, three of which were on net, but Abby Seaman and the Roos kept the game scoreless.
- Late into the first half, SUNY Canton faced a barrage on shots from Buffalo State, and eventually this led to the game's first goal. The Bengals got a 2v2 going after clearing the zone, and Vanessa Willick took a shot just inside the blue line than was perfectly placed into the top left for a 1-0 Buffalo State lead.
- The first period ended with the Roos behind 15-5 in shots on goal in addition to the score at 1-0.
- In the second period, the Roos drew a few penalties on the Bengals and got two shots on goal by Isabella Paswaters and Lilah Cudney during a 4v4 segment.
- Even with the Roos outshooting the Bengals 4-1 in the first 10 minutes of the period, the hosts found Willick up the ice while clearing the zone. Willick showed off her puck handling skill and moved cross-ice for a very impressive goal as Buffalo's State doubled their lead.
- Each team killed off one more penalty in the remainder of the second period, leaving the game at 2-0. Shots on goal were nearly even in the middle 20 with Buffalo State at 11 and SUNY Canton at 10.
- With just a little less than 10 minutes left in the third, the Roos drew a tripping penalty on the Bengals and 30 seconds in, Kylah Small won a draw in the attacking zone and played it back out to point to Beal. Beal sent it to Anna Pavlasova, who passed back to Beal and she took a slap shot up near the blue line for the score and a 2-1 game.
- Still playing from behind, the Roos drew another Buffalo State penalty with 2:56 left to play. About a minute into the power play, Seaman headed to the bench and the Roos were playing in a 6v4. However, only a few seconds after the goalie pull, Buffalo State won the puck behind their net and Sequoia Recollet-Nebenionquit flinged it down the ice for the empty net goal, and moments later, the buzzer sounded with the Bengals taking the 3-1 victory.
