Bryon Streb scored a game-high 16 points and team-high seven rebounds, but the SUNY Canton men's basketball team dropped a SUNYAC contest against SUNY Oneonta on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Roos were dominant early in the first half, with Streb hitting a jumper, a layup and two free throws to put his team up 11-5. Canton continued to push the lead, hitting four threes, including two by freshman Nate Cohen, to lead 20-11. After a layup by the Red Dragons Zyeir Lawrence, a Hansen Bagdonas trey and Jevonte Williams layup extended the Roos lead to 25-13 midway through the half.
- Oneonta went on a nine-point run that was capped by a Shea Barber layup to close the gap to 25-22. A layup by Eli Larson put the Roos ahead 29-22, but the Red Dragons scored 13 of the next 18 the end the half with a 35-34 lead.
- The Red Dragons came out of halftime hot, scoring 16 of the first 18 points, led by Xavier Hill's two layups to stretch their lead to 51-36. The two teams would trade points with Oneonta maintaining their lead 60-42 midway through the second half.
- Cohen was fouled an a three-point attempt and hit all three free throws to cut the lead to 63-49 and consecutive layups by Williams and senior Kevin Goode Jr. cut the score to 70-59. But Oneonta would hit the free throws down the stretch and win the game 76-64.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Streb led the Roos with 16 points, seven rebounds and two steals. Goode Jr. scored 16 points recorded four rebounds and added two steals. Williams scored seven points and led the Roos with three assists and three blocks.
- Hill led the Red Dragons with 14 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.
- Oneonta had an edge in points off turnovers (24-7), second-chance points (7-2), bench points (25-10), fast break points (17-14) and points in the paint (40-24). Canton had the advantage and blocks (8-3) and defensive rebounds (31-24).
