Fryfogle Nets Fourth Goal of Rookie Campaign Against Nichols

Boston, MA – Freshman Brayden Fryfogle scored his fourth goal of the season to give the SUNY Canton men's hockey team a 1-0 first period lead, but four second-period goals by Nichols College gave the Bisons the 4-1 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Fryfogle opened the scoring for the Roos, blasting a shot from the top of the circle and beating Bisons netminder Nick Anderson to take a 1-0 lead at 4:54 of the first period.  Freshman Nolan Zotter and senior Colton Sipperley assisted on the goal.
  • CJ Zezima evened the score at one all at 5:02 of the second period, taking a pass from Dimitri Voyatzis on an odd man break and burying his shot in the top right corner of the net.
  • Josh Dickson gave the Bisons their first lead of the evening less than 30 seconds later, tucking a rebound past Junior Nate Hopkins to put his team up 2-1.
  • Voyatzis scored a powerplay goal at 12:45 of the second, collecting a rebound on a shot from the point and snapping a wrister top shelf to earn a 3-1 advantage.
  • Nichols cashed in on another second period powerplay opportunity again when Aidan Flynn scored at 15:44 to make the score 4-1.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Fryfogle's goal was the fourth of his rookie season.  Zotter's assist gives him 12 points on the season, second highest on the team.
  • The Bisons had a significant edge in shots (49-21), blocks (13-9) and at the faceoff dot (35-28).
  • Canton was 0/5 on the powerplay while Nichols was 2/6.
  • Hopkins finished with 30 saves through two periods with sophomore Trey Miller making 15 saves without giving up a goal in one period of relief.  Anderson made 20 saves for the Bison.
  • Fryfogle was named to the all-tournament team.
