Oneonta, NY – Kat McRobbie-Taru led the Roos with 12 points and nine rebounds but a strong third quarter proved to be the difference as host SUNY Oneonta earned a 55-46 SUNYAC win against the SUNY Canton women's basketball team on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Oneonta jumped out to an early 9-2 lead just over three minutes in. Canton responded with a 6-0 run behind four points from Sierra Pabo and two from Abigail Rice to get within 9-8. The Red Dragons hit a jumper with 11 seconds left in the frame to take an 11-8 lead after 10 minutes.
- Canton took its first lead of the game at 21-19 after a Natalie Bartle three with 3:24 left in the opening half. Marijke Kroon knocked down a jumper with 37 seconds left as the Roos took a 25-23 lead into intermission.
- McRobbie-Taru led Canton with eight points in the first half while Bartle had seven. Amanda Zuntag paced Oneonta with 12 points and nine boards.
- The hosts dominated play in the third quarter outscoring Canton 23-5 to take a 16 point lead (46-30) to the fourth quarter.
- Canton trimmed the deficit to 10 midway through the fourth after a Torie Moore made layup but that was as close as they would get until the final 1:36 as Oneonta earned the nine point win.

- McRobbie-Taru led the Roos with 12 points and nine rebounds on 6-for-11 shooting, while Bartle totaled 10 points and five steals. Pabo chipped in nine points and three rebounds.
- Zuntag led Oneonta with 19 points and 14 rebounds, while Carlie Young also had a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
- Both teams struggled shooting with Canton hitting 31% of their field goals and 22% of their threes while the Dragons posted marks of 30% and 27%.
- Oneonta controlled rebounds (47-36), fast break points (8-0) and points off turnovers (11-4). Canton had a 16-10 edge in points in the paint.
