Oswego, NY – Senior Colton Sipperley scored his first goal of the season in the second period, but the SUNY Canton men's hockey team dropped a 5-1 decision to host SUNY Oswego on Friday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• Connor Gatto got Oswego on the board at 3:58 of the first period, scoring a power play goal with teammates Daniel Colabufo and Justin Ryan earning the assists.
• The Lakers increased their lead to 2-0 at 16:57 of the first on a goal by Ryan Burke.
• Sipperley's second period goal cut the lead to 2-1 at 6:37 with freshman Brayden Fryfogle getting the assist.
• Cam Symons, Burke and Brandon Cohen all scored third period markers to give the Lakers the 5-1 win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Sipperley's goal gives him nine points on the season.  Fryfogle's assist gives him 10 points and ties him for fourth on the team.
• The Roos were 0/2 on the power play.  Oswego was 2/3 with the extra man.
• Oswego held a 36-29 edge at the faceoff dot.  Senior Brendan Morrow led the way with 13 wins.
• Junior Nate Hopkins made 29 saves for the Roos.  Brandon Milberg made 17 saves for the Lakers.
