Potsdam, NY – The SUNY Canton women's basketball team outscored host SUNY Potsdam by 29 points in the second and third quarters en route to a 74-67 SUNYAC win on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Roos opened up an early 9-3 lead three minutes in following a Sierra Pabo jumper. The Bears responded with a 10-2 run to take a 13-11 lead. The hosts led 19-15 after the opening quarter.
- Canton opened the second stanza on an 8-0 run to open a 23-19 advantage. With the game tied at 27 apiece the Roos closed the final 3:26 of the half on an 11-0 run to take a double-digit lead at 38-27 at the break.
- The Roos scored the first nine points of the third frame extending their run to 20 consecutive points opening a 47-27 lead after a Natalie Bartle steal and layup two minutes into the half.
- Canton extended their lead to as many as 27 (62-35) and led 69-44 after three quarters of action.
- Potsdam controlled play in the fourth frame outscoring the Roos 23-5 but it was too little too late as Canton held on for the comfortable win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Pabo led the Roos with 18 points, while Bartle registered her fourth double-double of the season with 16 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists and seven steals. Torie Moore supplied 16 points and three rebounds, while Hope Aniceto added nine points. Emma Perez and Kat McRobbie-Taru chipped in seven and six points each with McRobbie-Taru adding eight boards.
- Barbara Bruno paced Potsdam with 21 points, while DaeLynn Alcock (16) and Jenna Cotter (11) also reached double figures.
- Canton shot 44% from the field, 47% from three and 71% from the line compared to marks of 39%, 33% and 68% for the Bears.
- The Roos controlled fast break points 34-10, while Potsdam had the upper hand in points off turnovers (23-11) and points in the paint (40-30).
