Kat McRobbie-Taru all scored in double figures but a strong second quarter proved to be the difference in a SUNYAC women's basketball contest on Friday evening. Plattsburgh State outscored SUNY Canton by 12 in a decisive second quarter.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Neither team led by more than three points in the first six minutes of the game. The Roos used a 13-3 run spanning the final four minutes of the first quarter and the first two minutes of the second stanza to open a 22-12 lead after a Pabo layup.
- The Cardinals responded with a 17-2 run of their own to take a 29-24 advantage with three minutes left in the second quarter. Overall, they finished the final eight minutes of the second quarter on a 24-7 spurt to take a 36-29 lead into intermission.
- Moore led Canton with eight first-half points, while Pabo tallied seven. Julia Greek paced all players with 14 points for the Cardinals.
- The Roos opened the third quarter on a 6-0 run to get within one (36-35) after a Bartle old-fashioned three-point play. Still leading by one (44-43), Plattsburgh closed the final 2:17 of the third on a 11-0 run to take a 55-43 lead headed to the fourth.
- Canton trimmed the deficit to four with 25 seconds remaining after five straight points from Pabo but Kathy Peterson-Ross answered with an old-fashioned three-point play to seal the win. Â

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Pabo paced Canton with 20 points, five rebounds and three assists, while McRobbie-Taru added 12 points on 5-for-11 shooting. Bartle recorded her third double-double of the season with 12 points and a season-high 17 rebounds to go with five assists and three steals. Her 17 rebounds are the second most for her in a Canton uniform behind her program-best 26 last season at Clarkson (11/15/23).
- Moore finished with eight points, all in the first half, and added five rebounds. Abigail Rice chipped in a season and career-best eight points in 22 minutes off the bench. Emma Perez was the only other Canton play to score with four points.
- Greek led all players with 21 points for the Cardinals, while Jaden Wilson (18) and Selma Deisz (16) scored in double figures.
- The Roos held the edge in rebounds (46-38), fast break points (14-1) and bench points (12-6). The Cardinals owned advantages in points in the paint (40-24) and points off turnovers (17-10).
- Plattsburgh shot 44% from the field and 41% from three-point range while Canton finished with marks of 35% and 29%, respectively.
