Canton, NY – Freshman
Logan Kelly scored his first career goal and added another in the third period, but the SUNY Canton men's hockey team dropped a 10-2 decision to Oswego State in a non-conference game on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
- Travis Baker opened the scoring for the Lakers, scoring on a wrap-around attempt from behind the net. The goal was scored at 10:02 of the first and was assisted by Michael Urgo and Daniel Colabufo.
- Freshman Logan Kelly evened the score at one all at 4:32 of the first, receiving a pass from junior Scott Cremen at the top of the circle and ripped a shot over the blocker of Laker goaltender Anthony Zolezzi. The goal was scored on the power play and sophomore Niko Schoner earned the secondary assist.
- Connor Gatto's goal at 17:39Â put the Lakers back on top 2-1 headed into intermission.
- Oswego opened up a 7-1 lead in the second period with Matt McQuade and Brandon Cohen scoring two each.
- Jesse Horacek scored for the Lakers just eight seconds into the final frame to give Oswego the 8-1 advantage.
- Kelly answered just 32 seconds later, snapping home his second power play goal of the evening from the same spot this time past Zolezzi's glove.
- Oswego would add two more goal in the period to give the Lakers a 10-2 victory.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Shots on goal were close with Oswego holding a 30-25 edge. Sophomore Adrian Franco led the Roos with five.
- Canton had a slim edge on faceoffs, winning 33 draws to the Lakers 32.
- The Roos were 2/5 on the power play and were 1/2 on the penalty kill.
- Junior Kelson Hooper started the game and made 11 saves in just under 35 minutes of play. Junior Nate Hopkins made nine saves in relief. Zolezzi made 23 saves for Oswego.
