Lindsey Wunder scored three goals and added one assist but the SUNY Canton women's lacrosse team dropped a non-league contest 18-7 to host Hartwick College on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Hawks outscored the Roos 5-1 in each of the first two quarters to take a commanding 10-2 lead into the second half.
- Canton's defense stiffened starting in the third quarter and the offense started to click with Wunder and freshman Sydney Dunn each scoring the quarter's first two tallies.Â
- After a Kristen Vaccarelli goal for Hartwick stopped the Roo run, Wunder and junior Morgan Montgomery got the Roos back on track with a goal each to cut the lead to 11-6.
- Five straight Hawk goals to end the third quarter dashed the hopes of the Canton faithful, who traveled to support the team.
- Harwick would score two more fourth-quarter goals that bookended another Wunder tally to make the final 18-7.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Wunder's three goals and one assist led the Roos. Junior Maddy Caron finished with one goal and two assists. Montgomery, Dunn and sophomore Caroline Nappi each finished with one goal.
- Caron led the Canton with five ground balls, five caused turnovers and seven draw controls. Wunder had five draw controls for the Roos.
- Hartwick held the upper hand in shots on goal (31-15) and ground balls (15-11), while Canton won the draw controls battle 15-13. The Hawks went 22-for-25 on clears, while the Roos were 19-for-24.
- Senior Olivia Scott made 12 saves in three quarters of work while junior Erin Anderson made one save in relief. Booke Lyneet made five saves for the Hawks with Alexa Patrakis making three in relief.

The Roos travel to Massachusetts to take on Framingham State and Salem State during the spring break trip. Canton faces the Rams on Monday, March 11
th at 4:30 p.m. and the Vikings on Thursday, March 14
th at 4:00 p.m.
