HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
- With limited chances through most of the first period, Sophia Berghammer broke the scoreless tie at 19:11, taking a pass from Grace Crowley at the top of the circle and hammering home a shot top shelf to give the Continentals a 1-0 lead. Grace Puskar earned the secondary assist.
- The Roos had an opportunity to tie the game early in the second period as a loose puck lay in the crease. A Hamilton player covered the puck with her hand and sophomore Riley Andzel was awarded a penalty shot for the infraction. Andzel's shot was marked for the top corner but Continental netminder Evie Sheridan made the blocker save.
- Canton pulled Lenihan in favor of the extra skater with 1:46 to play in the third but the Roos could not capitalize and Lydia Bullock scored the empty net goal to make the final 2-0 Hamilton.
