Las Vegas, NV – Natalie Bartle and
Hope Aniceto led the SUNY Canton women's basketball team with 15 and 10 points, respectively, as the Roos opened their play at the 14th annual D3hoops.com Classic with a 79-56 loss to the University of Redlands on Saturday in Las Vegas.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bulldogs roared out to an early 13-2 lead less than five minutes in and held a commanding 20-5 lead after the opening quarter. Redlands held the Roos to just 2-for-13 shooting in the opening quarter.
- Natalie Bartle buried back-to-back threes in Canton's first two possessions of the second quarter to trim the deficit to 11.
- Redlands led by as many as 17 in the second quarter taking that same advantage (38-21) to intermission. Play was much more even in the second stanza with the Bulldogs holding a slim 18-16 scoring advantage.
- Canton trimmed the Redlands lead to as little as 13 in the third quarter after a Bartle jumper just less than three minutes in. However, the Bulldogs used a 16-4 run over the next six minutes to open a 25 point advantage.
- The Roos trimmed the Redlands lead to 12 after an Aniceto trey just over two minutes into the fourth quarter. The Bulldogs responded with a 13-0 run to put the game away for the 79-56 victory.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Bartle paced the Roos with team-highs of 15 points, nine rebounds and two steals, while Aniceto added 10 points, three rebounds and three assists. Pabo chipped in eight points, seven rebounds and a team-high four assists. Chelsie Tyler added seven points and Torie Moore tied a team-best with four assists.
- Colbi Zorich led all players with 30 points shooting 13-for-20 from the field to go with eight rebounds. AJ Wick tallied a double-double with 15 points and 18 rebounds and added five steals and three blocks.
- Redlands shot 45% from the field compared to a 31% mark for the Roos. Canton turned the ball over a season-high 24 times leading to 20 points for the Bulldogs. The Roos had a slight advantage in bench points, 32-27. Redlands controlled fast break points (23-0) and points in the paint (42-16).
- After being outscored by 15 points in the opening quarter play was much closer as Canton was outscored by just eight points the rest of the way.

The Roos have a quick turnaround as they square off with Saint Vincent in their second game in two days at the D3hoops.com Classic at South Point Arena in Las Vegas. Tip time is set for 3 PM EST and 12 PM PST.
