Three Players Reach Double Figures as Roos Close out Vegas Trip vs. Bearcats

Las Vegas, NV – Hope Aniceto, Sierra Pabo and Natalie Bartle all reached double figures but the SUNY Canton women's basketball team fell behind early in an 81-54 loss to Saint Vincent College in the 14th annual D3hoops.com Classic on Sunday afternoon in Las Vegas.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Saint Vincent jumped out to an early 18-5 lead less than five minutes into the contest and opened a 26-12 advantage after the opening quarter.
  • The Bearcats doubled up the Roos 20-10 in the second quarter taking a 46-22 advantage into intermission.
  • The Roos battled back in the third quarter outscoring Saint Vincent 18-14 in the stanza. Canton got within 18 early in the fourth frame, but the Bearcats continued to keep the foot on the gas pedal in the 81-54 victory.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Aniceto led the Roos with 14 points and added four rebounds, while Pabo totaled 13 points. Bartle recorded her first double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds to go with four steals.
  • Makenna Maier led all players with 20 points and 13 rebounds, while Emily Thompson totaled 14 points and eight rebounds. Danielle Pontius chipped in 13 points, five assists and four boards.
  • The Bearcats shot 43% from the field and 36% from three-point range, while Canton tallied marks of 29% and 18%, respectively.
  • Saint Vincent controlled bench points (22-9), points in the paint (36-24) and fast break points (10-3).
Aniceto was named to the D3hoops.com Classic All-Tournament Team.
