Bryon Streb posted a career-high 28 point effort but the SUNY Canton men's basketball team dropped a 93-83 decision to Penn State Altoona in the consolation game of the Bill Sudeck Tournament at Case Western Reserve University on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Penn State Altoona jumped out to a quick 6-0 lead less than two minutes in and extended it to as much as 31-12 midway through the first half.Â
- The Roos responded with a tenacious defensive effort and a hot offensive run outscoring the Lions 32-13 to tie the game at 44 apiece late in the first half.
- Canton and Altoona continued back-and-forth the remaining two minutes of the half before the Roos took the edge leading 49-48 at the break led by Streb's 17 points.
- The Lions kicked off the second half with a 24-6 run to open a 72-55 lead nearly eight minutes into the second half.
- Canton trimmed the deficit to nine (85-76) with 3:02 remaining after a MJ Massey layup but Altoona held on for the 93-83 win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Streb led the Roos with a career and game-high 28 points, to go with seven  steals and seven rebounds in 36 hard-fought minutes.
- Canton also received noteworthy efforts from Kevin Goode Jr. who turned in 17 points and four steals, while big man Eli Larson chipped in with 12 points and six rebounds on the day. My'Kell Kaigler hit double figures with 15 points in 25 minutes to round out the offensive effort.
- Dwayne Jones carried the Altoona squad with a double-double finishing with 23 points, 11 rebounds and eight steals.
- Canton held the advantage in points off turnovers (30-25) and free throw percentage with 73.5%. Altoona held the upper hand on rebounds (44-30), bench points (21-8), points in the paint (38-36), assists (7-5), fast break points (12-8) and second chance points (11-7). Both teams were dead even with a (25-25) split on turnovers.
- The Roos shot 44.1% from the floor on the afternoon and 30% from three-point range.
- The Lions shot 51.7 % from the floor and 39.1% from deep, while going 68.8% from the free throw line.
Streb was named to the All-Tournament Team after posting 40 points, nine rebounds and seven steals during the tournament.Â
