Seaman Stops 38 as Roos Battle #2 Bulldogs

Adrian, MI – One night after making 42 saves and defeating the number two team in the country, sophomore Abby Seaman and the SUNY Canton women's hockey team were hoping for a repeat performance.  Seaman stopped 38 shots, but the upset was not in the cards and the team dropped a 5-0 decision to Adrian College.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
  • Aileena Dopheide opened the scoring for the Bulldogs scoring a power play goal at 5:22 of the first period.
  • Adrian scored three, second period goals off the sticks of Zoe Lohrei, Tia Lascelle and Dopheide to take a 4-0 lead.
  • In the third period the Bulldogs closed out scoring for the evening, scoring a power play goal at 4:18 from Kathryn Truban.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Freshman Bailey Cote had three shots on goal for the Roos and junior Jane Pancoe had two.
  • Canton was 0/4 on the power play and Adrian was 2/5 on the man-up.
  • Adrian dominated the face off dot 42-16.
  • Seaman stopped 38 for the Roos and Annie Gilbert made 13 stops for the Bulldogs.

The Roos travel to Oswego State to take on the Lakers in their SUNYAC conference opener.  The game will be played on Friday, November 8th at 7:00 p.m.
